Jesus Healed A Blind Man

John 9:6-7, 24-25 - “Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud and said to him, ‘Go wash in the pool of Siloam (which means sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing…. So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him, ‘Give glory to God. We know that his man is a sinner.’ He answered, ‘Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.’”

Maybe you’ve considered this, but Jesus did most of his miracles in the north, in Galilee. There are only two that we have recorded that he did in Jerusalem (aside from his death, burial, and resurrection) and they took place at a pool. The one recorded in John 9 took place in the pool at the lower end of the city called “Siloam.”

Seeing that his disciples misunderstood a bling beggar’s ailment as a punishment for his sin; Jesus healed him by spreading mud on this eyes and telling him to go and wash in the pool at the lower end of Jerusalem about half a mile from the temple area. By faith, the man did, and his eyesight was restored. This caused an uproar among the Jewish leaders which leads to one of the greatest testimonies in the Bible.

For this formerly blind man, one thing was incredibly clear (one thing I know) - he was blind but now he sees. And Jesus was the difference. This is a picture of everyone of our Christ following stories. Before Jesus we were in trouble and after Jesus we have miraculously changed. What is your one line testimony? How would you fill in the blanks? “Once I was ___________ but now I _________.” Write is down and share it with someone today.
